"Yanesen" refers to three neighborhoods: Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi. This area retains Edo, Meiji, and Taisho-era streetscapes that survived the Great Kanto Earthquake and wartime, making it one of Tokyo's most beloved old-town districts.

Yomise-dori Shopping Street

Yomise-dori — approx. 400m connecting Sendagi and Nezu

True to its name meaning "night stalls," the street was once packed with vendors every evening. With its wide roadway and light traffic, it remains a beloved promenade where local residents gather today.

Yanaka Ginza

A covered arcade shopping street extending from Nippori Station, Yanaka Ginza preserves the Showa-era downtown atmosphere with its butcher shop croquettes and Japanese sweets shops, attracting many visitors from Japan and abroad. The view from "Yuyake Dandan" (Sunset Steps) at the top of the hill is spectacular.

Nezu Shrine

A historic shrine with over 1,900 years of history, featuring shrine buildings designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan. During the Azalea Festival from April to May, approximately 3,000 azalea plants bloom in full color, drawing many worshippers.

HAGISO

A multi-purpose cultural facility created by renovating a wooden apartment building over 60 years old. Home to a café, gallery, and the inn "hanare," HAGISO has emerged as a new cultural hub in Yanaka.
